Internships in Italy

The Internship in Italy program offers international college students and professionals the opportunity to develop communication skills in the Italian language, and the opportunity to acquire an appreciation for Italian customs and culture.

CLIDA Administration designs internships for each individual student’s interests, desires, skills and goals. All internships take place in working environments in or around Florence. Under the guidelines of Italian law, all internships in Italy are unpaid but are insured. During the month of August, tourism and hotel internships are the only selections available since a large percentage of the Italian population vacations during the month this period.

Meetings are held periodically with the student to monitor progress and evaluate the experience. The candidate is expected to attend all included Italian language lessons before starting the internship portion of the program.

Enrollment Fee				80 €
The enrollment fee covers administrative fees, assistance at school, 15hrs. internet connection and the use of computers at school, an insurance that covers all damages or personal injuries that occur in the school's premises, all tests and language exams and the certificate at the end of the course. The IN programs' price includes also the monitoring of the internship, the CV/resume translation, the internship compensation insurance and the attandance certificate.

Course Descriptions: INTERNSHIPS
	IN2: Internship - 2 Months (1 month Italian + 1 month internship) The IN2 program lasts 2 months and includes 1 month of intensive Italian language course and 1 month of internship. The Italian language preparation consists of 4 lessons of the G8 group Italian language course in the morning. For the second month of the program, the candidate is placed in a company in or around Florence for 1 month of internship. This program preferably applies to students with at least an intermediate knowledge of Italian. Program Details: 1 G1 - 100 lessons. The G1 course is a very intensive ltalian language course; lessons take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with two lessons of grammar, and after a short break, two lessons of conversation and one lesson, according to the level, of history of Florence, lecture and animation, comprehension, composition, recipes and tradition, scenario, film, Italian literature, newspapers, oral summary, topics etc. Classes are every day from Monday through Friday. 4 weeks of internship with a company in or around Florence

The IN3 program is offered in two different options: IN3 (2+1) and IN3 (1+2).
	IN3(2+1): Internship - 3 Months (2 months Italian + 1 month internship) The IN3 (2+1) option lasts 3 months and includes 2 months of intensive language courses and 1 month of internship in a company in the Florence's area. This program preferably applies to students with at least an elementary knowledge of Italian. Program details: 2 G1 - 200 lessons. The G1 course is a very intensive ltalian language course; lessons take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with two lessons of grammar, and after a short break, two lessons of conversation and one lesson, according to the level, of history of Florence, lecture and animation, comprehension, composition, recipes and tradition, scenario, film, Italian literature, newspapers, oral summary, topics etc. 4 weeks of internship with a company in or around Florence
	IN3P(2+1): Internship Package - 3 Months (2 months Italian + 1 month internship) Also 3 months long, IN3P(2+1) includes everything in IN3(2+1) and more: 2 GL - 240 lessons. 	IN6: Internship - 6 Months The IN6 program extends for 6 months. It includes an Italian language course for 3 months —100 lessons per month. For the remaining 3 months of the program, the candidate is placed in an internship with a company in or around Florence. This internship program is ideal for beginners, with or without previous knowledge of Italian, who want to become proficient in the Italian language. It is also beneficial to intermediate and advanced students who want to even further enhance their Italian language skills. Program Details: 3 G1 - 300 lessons. The G1 course is a very intensive ltalian language course; lessons take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with two lessons of grammar, and after a short break, two lessons of conversation and one lesson, according to the level, of history of Florence, lecture and animation, comprehension, composition, recipes and tradition, scenario, film, Italian literature, newspapers, oral summary, topics etc. 12 weeks of internship with a company in or around Florence
	IN6P: Internship Package - 6 Months Also 6 months long, IN6P includes everything IN6 has to offer and more: The GL course(360 lessons) - a super intensive course. Lessons take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with two lessons of grammar, and after a short break, two lessons of conversation and one lesson, according to the level, of history of Florence, lecture and animation, comprehension, composition, recipes and tradition, scenario, film, Italian literature, newspapers, oral summary, topics, etc. Conversation and/or culture lessons take place twice a week in small groups in the afternoon from 2:00 to 3:30 pm or from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. 1 cooking class 1 cultural visit 30 lunch vouchers 12 weeks of internship with a company in or around Florence
	INO: Internship Only This option is available for students who already speak Italian at least at an intermediate level and prefer to start an internship without the Italian language course segment. A minimum language requirement is mandatory for companies that request interns with sufficient knowledge of the Italian language.

Educational Requirements: Open to all students at undergraduate junior to senior levels, recent graduates, and graduate students. Age: 18-38 years. Interns required knowledge of Italian is dependant on the internship. See descriptions for Italian proficiency requirements.

Internship Application Process: Students must complete an application form and provide a resume to CLIDA. Selection criteria will not include their present knowledge of the Italian language as this will be extended during the preliminary Italian language course. Applicant must include a description of the type and field of internship he or she desires.
